updates: 14th March 2006.. ORD OH!!!!!

This whole week, I was given the chance to drive my uncle's car because the whole family went to China for holiday. So, on monday evening, after the movie "GUBRA" that Hana made me watch, my dad called. At this point of time, we were having dinner at Long John Silver's. At first I thought it will be cool because I got my license and I have not been driving on Singapore roads. Long story. So while contemplating, we decided to give it a try. ( give it a try because I was thinking of the petrol money, parking coupons, whether I can drive properly, how to get to somewhere )

On monday night, my mum, my dad and me went over to Bedok to "collect" the car. I had to bring my dad along because I don't know how to get out of Changi Airport or even go there. So reluctantly, he followed even after a hard day's work. So after sending my cousins at the airport, I drove the car home. And of cos I get criticised in the way I drive, like I'm supposed to hold the steering wheel with one hand instead of two, and don't bother about putting parking coupons, and stuffs like that. But I do agree that I need to check my blindspot more and reduce speed while cornering, which I'm doing better now.

My first real driving was the morning of the next day. I volunteered to send my mum to work. One of the reasons why we decide to use the car is because Hana suggested that I with the car, I can send my mum to work. So I did. I felt better on that day because I get to DRIVE with no one criticising or giving directions. I mean, if they complain so much, just take over and drive the car. Case end. After I sent my mum to work, I went home instead of heading to camp to collect my PINK IC. I decided to take the MRT instead. Boy, was I wrong. After I reached Buona Vista, I remembered that I left my ORD documents at home. -_-' so I take the MRT back home, took my documents and head for the car. I drove all the way to Changi from Bukit Batok. It was an experience, especially while driving alone. On this day also, I got my first FINE. *laughs* Got fined 30 bucks for not putting parking coupons. ( honestly, I didn't know which coupon to buy then. I asked and NO ONE tell me )

On wednesday, I send my mum to work in the morning, and then went over to Hana's house to have an early breakfast with her. She was still in her sleepy2 dizzy2 mood. I didn't know she was pouting until I turn my back to her and her maid asked her. Shrugs. It's okie for her to have breakfast with Fiza I guess. So we went to Al-Ameen to have masala dhosai and cheese egg prata. sambal. We took our time to eat because it was still 9 plus. After taking as long as we could, we head over to refuel. MY FIRST REFUELING SESSION. Ah, first of all, I didn't know which petrol to top up. Should I use the Green coloured petrol or the Blue coloured V-power. Now I know...

Thursday, sent my mum to work in the morning, didn't do much after that, picked Hana up from home, went to have lunch at Bugis because she's meeting her cikgu and friends there. So reached Bugis, I crossed an ERP boundary WITHOUT putting my cashcard inside, I turned into the wrong CARPARK because it's only for loading and unloading. Then, when I found the carpark, I parked at the HOTEL side, so we had to walk a distance towards the lift to Seiyu. And in any case, it wasn't even Seiyu's Carpark. You can say WOW now if you want. Then my mum called at around 4, asking where I am. Then she wanted me to send her home, which I did. After I reached home, I decided to go and join Hana. So I met her Cikgu and friends. More info is on her blog.

Friday, sent mum to work in the morning, same thing, pick Hana up at 5.30pm, made a wrong turn towards CTE/SLE/TPE exit instead of BKE/PIE. Since it's peak hours, the CTE/SLE was jammed. Slow moving traffic. Best part was, neither of us know where to exit. So I recalled the streetdirectory that Hana showed me a few days ago. And CTE started at Bugis. or so i thought. Went through tunnels, passed by exits towards orchard, and ended up at AYE, heading back towards Jurong. Exited near portsdown road, had no bloody idea where I was and Hana saw bus 61. She slowly recalled the route, made a U-turn, made last minute swervings, did some crazy stunts with the car, and found myself at junctions leading to AYE again. exited at Keppel Road, went through the ERP again tall buildings everywhere and then I saw esplanade. cant recall which direction to turn, and ended up parking the car inside raffles hospital 1hour 20mins later. i seriously lost all the mood. i just felt like going home and quickly wish that i wasnt the one driving the car.

So to those who are reading, comment on this. I believe it was my fault because I was the one driving it. I didnt put the card in the IU and probably will get a summon letter soon. I dun know how to tell my uncle that. Some major problems with the car which, with my technical experience in vehicles, i spotted like overheating, which results in power loss and excessive fuel usage. the point is, the servicing mileage is way overdue. 8000 km overdue. power steering was bad, checked the atf and it's black. brake's probably has air in the pipelines due to the pedal being squishy, check the brake fluid(DOT3 for civilian vehicles) and it looks okie. so just have to bleed and top up. sighs... i hate driving...

going to return the car today. picking up my uncle and aunt at the airport in the afternoon. had to pick my mum up before that and send her to my grandma's house. till later...
